Brittany Horne @thesoulpaintress
Brittany is a fine artist known for her vibrant portrait paintings. She is from a very small town in Northeast Mississippi called Shuqualak. Her earliest memories include painting and drawing with her mother. She graduated from Mississippi School of the Arts in Brookhaven, MS and later obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mississippi State University followed by Masters in Science from Mississippi College. Her current art consist of royal portraits inspired by music artists and landscape art inspired by the beauty of nature and its connection to human existence. Her most highlighted series are Homelessness in America and Organic Revision. Maurice Calvert @moesart_drip Maurice is a practicing visual artist who is originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, but has been residing in Jackson, Mississippi, for twenty-one years; and is currently one of the two art instructors at The Mississippi School of The Arts. The love for the visual arts was displayed as early as Kindergarten in Maurice’s life, and crayons became his forte as he would scribble and doodle things all around him! As Maurice grew older he along with his relatives were exposed to much of the untamed and untouched world around him; such as the roaming nature of Colorado, the Fearless bison of Yellow Stone National Park, and the thousands of stars that blanketed the sky on crystal clear; low humidity nights at other Wyoming camp grounds. The admiration of Gods creation inspired Maurice to pursue visual arts from the age of five at John Adams elementary, to Wasson High School; and Jackson State University where he graduated with a B.A in Graphic Design; and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Maurice has shown his art work in multiple gallery spaces, does freelance art commissions of portraiture, landscapes, and abstract art.
